The desire to have and raise children is a good an The desire to have and raise children is a good and godly desire. In fact, the first thing God tells Adam and Eve to do in the Garden is to be fruitful and multiply. But since our world is marred by sin, creating a family can be difficult. Sometimes couples struggle with infertility or are unable to carry a child to full-term. While we pray that infertility and pregnancy difficulties may cease, we trust in a God who abounds with blessings and sometimes chooses to bless in another way. Through adoption, infertile couples (and those who are fertile!) are able to become parents and show both love and mercy to children who need loving homes.. In this way, God works through adoption to build families and provide for children. We pray for children who need homes, for couples and families who can’t wait to adopt, and for the parents who choose to allow their children to be loved by another family.

Our status in life doesn’t change these truths: we Our status in life doesn’t change these truths: we were all separated from God by our sins, and we have been brought back to Him by the redemption Christ won for us on the cross. We are called to stand alongside all people, supporting them in their needs, for we are all created by the same heavenly father.

Many women who are victims of domestic violence fe Many women who are victims of domestic violence feel trapped in the cycle and hesitate to seek help. Why? Because the cycle makes the victim feel as though she is alone, undeserving of help, or obligated to stay in the relationship. These feelings are a horrible consequence of abuse. But the truth is that God has surrounded every person with a network of relief. Healthcare professionals are trained to spot abuse and help. Women’s shelters are readily available to give women a safe place to live while they flee their abuser. And when the woman is safe and ready to move on, therapists help women heal from their trauma. God also provides His Church, through which His people show mercy to those suffering. The Christian church also preaches the Word, which proclaims that Christ has redeemed every person and brings healing to all, especially those who feel hopeless. If you or someone you know needs help breaking the cycle, call Word of Hope at (888) 217-8679.
