People with disabilities may feel disheartened tha People with disabilities may feel disheartened that their physical or mental limitations keep them from fulfilling the world’s standards of a good life. As a result, they are left feeling broken and full of despair. But God’s standards for a good life are far better than the world’s standards. Life is made good by God’s provision. God provides all we need in body and soul. Despite our struggles, God’s blessings overflow in our lives because of Christ who is not only our comfort in suffering but also our hope for eternity.
"We are all broken people living in a broken world "We are all broken people living in a broken world. We struggle with sin and the temptations of the devil. We may cry out to God, begging for a loved one to be saved or a friend to be brought to faith, and it may not happen. Our world is ugly in its sin, and we are ugly too. However, because of Christ’s sacrifice, we are clothed in the white robes of righteousness. We appear beautiful to God. Our sins are forgiven in the death and resurrection of God’s Son, Jesus Christ. But we don’t have to travel back in time and visit the cross for that forgiveness; it’s given to us directly through Word and sacrament every Sunday." - Elizabeth Crawford

We can do nothing truly good apart from the Spirit We can do nothing truly good apart from the Spirit. This Spirit reveals Himself to us through His Word. The Word is an outpouring of truth, and through it we receive faith, forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation.
A disability is a physical or mental condition tha A disability is a physical or mental condition that limits a person’s movements or activities. This may affect the education of the individual or their ability to work. Even though people with disabilities experience limitations in the world, they have no limitations in the kingdom of God. Christ became man, suffered, and died so that all people of all abilities in body and mind could have life through Him. In Galatians 3:28, Paul writes that, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” This means that all people, regardless of race, gender, social status, or ability are saved through Christ alone. Christ is merciful; He takes all of our sin, pain, and struggles onto Himself and then covers us with His own perfection. So, whenever we look at our ne
