Love, Marriage, and Family Resources

Real Love Real Life

We think about it. We want it. We wonder when we’ll find it. We wonder IF we’ll find it. Sometimes we see it work wonderfully…and sometimes we see it fall apart. And when it does fall apart, it hurts. Relationships break; hearts break; people break. Is love really all it’s cracked up to be? The simple answer is, YES! God desires to give His people love, and one of the ways He provides the blessing of love is through marriage. But how do we know when we’ve found real love? How do we show real love to our spouse? How do we love as God intended? First, we need to know what real love looks like, what it is and what it isn’t. We need to know how to spot it, how to grow it, and how to give it. Interested in learning more about REAL LOVE? Read on, young lover! PDF and physical print options available below.

The Dangerous Effects of Pornography

Cohabitation: Is It Really That Big of a Deal?

Many people believe that cohabitation offers a chance to get to know a potential spouse better before making a marriage commitment, and that belief is so convincing that 70% of couples end up cohabitating. Even Christians have caught on to this trend: between 63% and 75% of Christian couples live together before marriage. This infographic addresses the life issue of cohabitation and how you can respond to it from a 4 Life perspective. PDF and physical print options available below.

Foster Care

Perhaps you’ve heard about foster care in the news. Maybe your family is thinking about participating in foster care, or perhaps you’ve thought about becoming a foster parent in the future. Check out this infographic for some quick facts about the life-affirming process of participating in foster care. PDF and physical print options available below.

Communicating with Young Children Bookmark – Download PDF

This bookmark provides a simple key for expressing emotions when communication with those who have disabilities becomes confusing or frustrating. You are mine.” (Isaiah 43:1b ESV)

Biblical Manhood – Download PDF

Understanding the unique way in which we were created doesn’t make us fully men. Getting married and having a family doesn’t make us a man. Success in our businesses, achieving great wealth and power, receiving honor and praise by our peers—these are not the measure of real masculinity, biblical manhood. To be truly a man, biblically, we must commit ourselves with the will and the strength that only God can give us—to the pursuit of godliness. This is biblical manhood. By Dr. Francis Monseth.

This is a hard truth of the world: we are all sinn This is a hard truth of the world: we are all sinners. No one can live up to God’s standard. Thankfully, as Christians, we also know the best truth in the world! Christ died for all our sins, granting us forgiveness as a gift. There is nothing we can pay for this gift, because the blood of Jesus already paid the price.
Government, though tarnished by sin, is also a gif Government, though tarnished by sin, is also a gift from God, given to protect and uphold our lives. Through Kings Saul, David, and Solomon, God protected Israel from their enemies, provided them daily bread, and safety. Similarly, God, as the head and master of the universe, works through the order established by governments so that we may live in peace and quietness and receive our daily bread. God uses the power of the sword to bring about justice when there has been a crime and to deliver us from war. He works through farmers, taxes, and public sanitation to give us food, good roads, and clean water. We pray that God continues to work for good through governments, even imperfect ones.
As we move through Church Worker Appreciation Mont As we move through Church Worker Appreciation Month, today we thank God for all Directors of Christian Outreach (DCO) who work through their congregations to serve God's people in their local community. As they reach out to community members, a DCO has the opportunity to address a person's physical and mental needs while simultaneously sharing the hope and promise of Christ's death and resurrection. Please pray for DCOs that God would work through them to serve the needs of others and that the Holy Spirit would use them to plant the seeds of faith in the hearts of God's people.

As we move through Church Worker Appreciation Mont As we move through Church Worker Appreciation Month, today we thank God for all Deaconesses. Deaconesses are trained to serve God and His people through mercy work, spiritual care, and various other teaching opportunities. Deaconesses serve alongside pastors, and together they are often the first place people go when a life issue puts them in distress. Please pray for Deaconesses that God would continue to bless their ministry as they work closely with people who need care and support in this life.

He preserves His people from tribulation, sustains relationships between His people, and provides for all their needs. In response to God’s faithfulness, we get the opportunity to thank and praise Him with our voices, in song and in prayer, and with our lives through acts of service and mercy.
One of the most important orders, established in t One of the most important orders, established in the Garden of Eden when God created Eve for Adam, is the family. The order of the family is best understood as circles of care: the husband cares for his wife and children, loving them sacrificially; the wife submits to her husband, receiving his loving care and helping him care for their children; and the children submit to their parents, receive love from them, and gladly honor and obey them. God cares for the entire family - husband, wife, and children - wrapping them in His loving mercy as He gives them daily bread for both body and soul through physical gifts and the sustenance of His Word. As we move through Church Worker Appreciation Mont As we move through Church Worker Appreciation Month, today we thank God for all Church Musicians. God works through musicians to uphold the lives of His people as the words of hymns and psalms are brought alive through music. These words bring messages of hope and reminders of God's promises to the ears of all who listen. Please keep all church musicians in your prayers, that they may continue using their gifts in service to others, and that the Holy Spirit would work through the music to bring God's comfort to those who need it.
