The Lions4Life team at Faith Lutheran School in Plano, Texas, has enjoyed a busy fall semester! We have hosted monthly student meetings to discuss and plan future events. During the month of November, we hosted a book drive at our church and school to collect books, magazines, and puzzle books for a local assisted living facility and for a local community center. In our church, we had one collection box where members could place donated books and other items. In our school, we created a student challenge where grades competed against each other to gather items, and we awarded the class who collected the most items with a hot chocolate party hosted by Lions4Life.

The book drive exceeded our expectations, and we collected more than 660 books, magazines, and puzzle books to gift to the assisted living facility’s residents. Our team members will deliver the books in mid-December. While at the assisted living facility, we will also sing Christmas carols and visit with the residents.

We are also making plans to attend a March for Life in Dallas, which takes place in January. We will meet up with other area churches and have a prayer service before taking part in the march.

Soon, we will also start another item collection drive. In December and January, we will collect toiletries and other personal supplies which we will take with us when we attend the Y4Life Summit at Concordia Nebraska in February. Overall, the awareness of our group is growing among our church and school, and we are grateful for the increased interest and increased student attendance of our group. We are very thankful that God has blessed us with this opportunity to spread the word of God and the meaning of life to others, and we cannot wait to see where God will lead our team in the comings months!
