All lives have value, even those lives which are w All lives have value, even those lives which are weak according to the world’s standards. This is because our value is not found in finite measures of usefulness, but rather in the infinite Christ who died for all so that the lost may have life with Him.

After fleeing from their homes, many refugees spen After fleeing from their homes, many refugees spend years in camps as their host countries process them and attempt to find them a permanent home. These years of homelessness leave millions of people feeling lost and without purpose. They struggle to find fulfillment and peace. God, on the other hand, provides us with belonging and an opportunity to serve according to our vocations, just as Adam did in the garden. God restores our feelings of usefulness by calling us to vocations such as father, mother, son, and daughter. He also gives us the most meaningful purpose through His Son, Jesus Christ, by redeeming us and calling us to faith so that we may serve Him in everlasting righteousness, innocence, and blessedness.

Social media constantly floods our lives, telling Social media constantly floods our lives, telling us how to be happy. But God tells us that He is the source and end of all happiness and joy. God provides us with daily bread, which includes everything we need to support our body and soul in this life. He also gives us His Word and Sacraments, which strengthen our faith and deliver to us eternal life. There we will live in happiness and peace forever.
Many refugees are forced to leave their families b Many refugees are forced to leave their families behind in their home countries or to separate from family members as they travel. This separation can lead to anxiety, depression, and hardship. God does not desire that we experience turmoil, sadness, or loss. Instead, He desires that families stay together. Yet, brokenness surrounds us. God reminds us that we are not alone; we belong to His eternal family. God sent His only Son to die for us so that we might live forever with Him. In Christ, we find a suffering Savior who brings us into His family and perfects us for eternal life with Him.

Our status in life doesn’t change these truths: Our status in life doesn’t change these truths: we were all separated from God by our sins, and we have been brought back to Him by the redemption Christ won for us on the cross. We are called to stand alongside all people, supporting them in their needs, for we are all created by the same heavenly father.
Unlike many immigrants who leave their home volunt Unlike many immigrants who leave their home voluntarily, refugees are forced to leave their homes. Refugees leave their home and everything they have known to seek safety for themselves and their families in a new country. As a result, refugees spend a lot of time as strangers in a foreign land. God desires all people to live in peace, for conflicts to end, and for families to remain together. But we know the world is broken by sin. In Leviticus 19:33, God instructs ancient Israel to welcome and love the sojourner as one loves himself. This means that when refugees become our neighbors, Christians show them love and kindness. Refugees are loved by God. They, too, are created, redeemed, and called.

The discipline of the law stings as it attacks our The discipline of the law stings as it attacks our sinful nature. But we rejoice in the soothing balm of the Gospel which relieves the pain of the Law, gives us new life, and teaches us of the eternal goodness to come.
Proverbs 22:6 tells parents to, “Train up a chil Proverbs 22:6 tells parents to, “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it” (ESV). God has made parents the leaders to their children in all ways. He has even created children in such a way that they emulate their parents and learn from them what is right and what is wrong. But cohabitation not only results in higher abortion rates than seen in married couples, it also creates instability in a home. When families break apart, children are the biggest losers physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
When children are born in a stable and loving home, they are more likely to be brought to the saving waters of Baptism to receive forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation. And they are more likely to be raised in the church, able to receive God’s gifts of life for life.
Sexual intimacy is a gift God gives married couple Sexual intimacy is a gift God gives married couples, not only for procreation and oneness, but also so that the married couple might love and serve each other. Outside of marriage, sex becomes transactional - an act that serves and satisfies self. When we begin to see others as objects that provide either pain or pleasure rather than gifts from God, we’re more likely to treat them as something other than gifts.
God’s desire is that romantic relationships be safe, loving, and filled with blessings. Sexual intimacy then, is reserved for marriage which is designed to reflect the relationship of Christ and His bride, the Church. Like the Church who is under the protection of Christ, women should be valued and cared for, as precious gifts. They should never become recipients of violence.
